Hospice Home Care

For families of patients at end of life, hospice home care can be physically and mentally very demanding. It’s a role that requires 100 per cent commitment, and a lot of selflessness. No matter how committed you are to the needs of the person you’re caring for, you also need to make time for yourself.

Harmony’s hospice home care services are a huge blessing not only to the patient, but also to their families.

We have designed our hospice home care services to allow you time to recharge, safe with the knowledge that your loved one is being cared for by one of our friendly caregivers. Hospice home care can last anywhere from a few days to several weeks. So, getting a break will enable you to return to care feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Allowing someone else to come into the home can be a tough decision. There are worries over disruption to existing routines, and lifestyle.

We Understand What You Are Dealing With

The end of life never comes at a convenient time, or when we are fully prepared for it. You’ve done all you can for them, and the doctors have told you there’s nothing more they can do. Your main concern now is to make them as comfortable as possible, and enjoy what time you have left together as best you can.

The hospice company you choose will supply the equipment you need, and their nurse will stop by 2-3 times a week to monitor medications, and administer the necessary medical care. But what about the other 22 hours in the day? Who’s going to help you with the hygiene, toileting, feeding, bathing, dressing??

You’re not superhuman, you need and deserve some help. That’s where we can assist. Our specially trained and agency supervised hospice aides are experienced with all the equipment and routines required in hospice care. We can handle the lifts, the hygiene, toileting, linens, feeding, and all the difficult, time consuming tasks that can exhaust your energy and rob you of the remarkable experiences that afford themselves at the end of life.

If you want to find out more, please call us today to talk to one of our hospice care supervisors. You’ll be surprised at just how much we understand what you’re going through.
